Green Stormwater Infrastructure

Green Stormwater Infrastructure is a program directed at vocational and career technical education students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts (design) and math. The (GSI) curriculum aims to help students explore new skills and to experience a variety of methods for effective knowledge transfer.

This is project-based learning experience where students become active participants in the educational experience. The GSI program includes activities that support watershed themes with scientific exploration, mathematical measurements, green infrastructure, esthetic maintenance and creative expression through writing and art.

The primary goal of this training is to expose students to a variety of opportunities that exist within the stormwater management and green infrastructure (aesthetic) maintenance industry sectors. The GSI training is designed to motivate students to explore a career within this diverse and constantly changing industry; to challenge students into developing the necessary skills; and to meet the industries standard requirements for competency and safety.
